Hat Yai Airport, October–December 2026: Vietjet Advises Arriving 2–3 Hours Early

Travelling through Hat Yai International Airport (HDY) between October and December 2026? Allow extra time for your airport journey. In its Facebook announcement dated 13 October 2026, Vietjet advises passengers to reach the airport at least 2–3 hours before departure.
Why allow more time at Hat Yai Airport?
The airline says increased passenger traffic is expected as travellers depart for Umrah in Saudi Arabia. This may make both the roads around the airport and the passenger terminal busier than usual.
Arriving early gives you more room to complete check-in, baggage drop and the steps before boarding without rushing.
A practical checklist before you leave
- Work backwards from departure: Plan to be at the airport 2–3 hours before your flight, then add travel time from your home or hotel.
- Check your flight: Confirm the latest departure date, time and terminal information with your airline before setting off.
- Prepare documents and bags: Keep travel documents easy to reach and check the baggage allowance attached to your ticket.
- Coordinate your group: Agree on a clear meeting and pickup time, especially when travelling with family or a larger group.
Check-in and boarding deadlines still apply
The arrival recommendation does not change check-in or boarding gate closing times. Check the requirements for your particular airline and flight, and review any further announcements before travelling.
